Nasser Al-Attiyah Wins 2015 Dakar Rally

Qatar Rally Team driver Nasser Al-Attiyah and his French co-driver Mathieu Baumel clinched victory after a grueling 9,000-kilometer race spanning Argentina, Chile and Bolivia. Leading from day two all the way to the finish and going fastest on six stages, the Qatar Rally Team driver and co-driver recorded a 35-minute advance in the notoriously tough 14-day marathon rally often described as rallying’s Everest. The victory marks Al-Attiyah’s second win in the Dakar Rally following his triumph in 2011, as well as a fourth consecutive triumph for MINI. Upon his return home, Al-Attiyah joined Alfardan Automobiles in celebrating his epic victory in the MINI ALL4 Racing car. Omar Alfardan, President and CEO of Alfardan Group, and Mohamed Kandeel, Chief Operating Officer, Alfardan Group – Automotive Operations, personally welcomed Al-Attiyah at a cake-cutting ceremony held at the BMW Group importer’s new MINI-dedicated showroom.
