Spring-Summer 2017 Ready-to-Wear

Designer Karl Lagerfeld of Fendi presented a show that was every bit as playful as it was fashionable. From the fabrics to the designs to the accessories, everything came together to reveal a light, airy spring-summer ready-to-wear collection. This creative showcase featured items as diverse as knitted sock booties, lingerie silk, as well as brocades. Somehow the stripes, which alone might seem utilitarian, played into the motif. With his skillful touch, Lagerfeld was able to bring these things together. The models were styled for fun as well, with half ponytails and glittery lips. Their dresses had all the whimsy of dolls, with cinched waists and ribbons, sometimes tied on the side, as if to tie off the outfit and sometimes in the back, as with the apron-styled dress. Perhaps the most fun of all was had with the accessories -- tiny pastel bags with a variety of embellishments.
