Nicolas Ghesquière made the forward-thinking decision to showcase Louis Vuitton’s Spring-Summer 2017 Ready-to-Wear collection at 2 Place Vendôme, home of the soon-to-be debuted new store. The show was just as much about what wasn’t there as it was about what was there. From the one-sleeved draped jersey dresses to the various cut-outs, this collection was all about sharp angles, flowy freedom of movement and sexy suggestion. The collection was inspired by French women, who favor the one-sleeved draped dress. Also featured were open-backed dresses, beautiful tailoring and suits with open shoulders. Some of the standouts from the collection were a pair of cowboy boots that are an evolution from last year’s utility hiking boot along with beautifully tailored suits. Apparently, they saved the best for last because as one of the last shows during Paris Fashion Week, the Louis Vuitton collection was everything we expected and more!
